Military Fork
The pitchfork is a pole weapon used in Europe between the 15th and 19th centuries. Like many polearms, the pitchfork traces its origins to an agricultural tool, in this case the pitchfork. Unlike the tridt used for fishing, the military fork is tough and usually only has two prongs, as is the case with the basic fork. Both teeth usually run parallel or slightly flare. This weapon is as easy to use as a sword, and it takes years to learn how to use it properly. It is usually used in the absence of a spear. Like the spear, the military fork could be used in tight formations, and was often made with some minor modifications to improve its use; in the example shown above, the fork has a hook parallel to the floor that is supposed to "catch" the gun, and two "hooks" to pull the rider from his horse.
